A genuine French bistro on Bridgeway, and more than the breakfast cafe the name suggests. It's a relatively recent arrival, and local press called it Sausalito's newest bayside bistro when it opened at 633 Bridgeway. The restaurant describes itself as a French cafe and waterfront bistro serving cafe favorites, seasonal dishes, cocktails and wine in a relaxed neighborhood setting with a view over the bay toward San Francisco. The menu runs from egg sandwiches and quiche to steak frites and duck confit, the kind of brasserie cooking that takes itself a little more seriously than the storefront lets on. Interiors are blue-and-white wallpaper and marble counters, a light, coastal look.
Atmosphere
Cafe-casual for brunch, a touch more composed by dinner, with a dog-friendly patio that looks out over the water and toward the San Francisco skyline. Weekday mornings run quiet enough to actually read a newspaper. Weekend brunch fills up fast, and the patio is the first thing to go when the sun is out. Indoors is cozy and bright, with a small footprint that keeps the room intimate rather than cavernous.
What To Order
For dinner, steak frites and the duck confit are the two mainstays that show up on the restaurant's own menu. Stuffed squash blossoms are a seasonal starter worth asking about. At brunch, egg sandwiches, omelettes, quiche and French toast are the straightforward pleasures, and mimosas are on the drinks list. The menu has been changing since opening, so check the current version before you set your heart on a dish. Coffee is a proper French cafe affair and a good excuse to linger at a patio table.

Suzette is open every day, roughly 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Brunch is served from 8 to 4, and dinner from 4. That is effectively open all day, which isn't true of most of Bridgeway's dinner-only spots. Reservations can be made on the restaurant's website, and they are worth booking for weekend brunch or a sunset patio table. Weekend mornings are the busiest window; a weekday visit means shorter waits. The patio welcomes dogs. It's on the main strip at 633 Bridgeway, a short walk from the ferry landing.
Our Take
Don't mistake this for a quick crepe stop. It's a real French bistro that happens to also do a very good brunch. Come for dinner at least once, order like it's a bistro rather than a cafe, and try to get a patio table for the view.
